Outreach:
Welcome Baby Brave Kits: This is our way to welcome you and your little one into our district! This kit is given to families with newborns in Pequea Valley and includes books, bibs, toys, literacy information, and information on connecting to community resources.
Imagination Library: This provides each PV-bound early learner with one free book per month starting from birth until they turn five years old. The learner receives a book at his/her developmental level in the mail.
Read Under the Lights: Held each fall at Pequea Valley High School, this is a literacy night for preschool learners of all ages to enjoy with their families and the PV athletes. There are a variety of reading/activity stations run by our student athletic teams, raffle prizes, free books, and snacks from local food trucks.
Free Preschool Referrals: To become connected with a preschool, reach out to Lisa Eckert. (hyperlink her name to her email: lisa@thefactoryministries.com)
Play and Learns:
These are monthly group activities designed to promote play, parent/child interaction, community connections and knowledge of early childhood development.
Book Clubs: A five week in-person book club at our Brave Kids Learning Center. We provide families with new books, activities, songs, fun family-friendly recipes, child development information, and allow learners to enjoy time with other Little Braves and their caregivers.
Open Gyms: Located at The Factory, this activity is open to any child of any school district. This is a play and learn program for our young learners and their caregivers. This is offered twice a month for an hour and half during the winter months. The goal of this program is to offer our Little Braves a time to play, run, sing, participate in group circle time, and enjoy a small snack. For our caregivers, this is a time to enjoy playing with your little ones, meet other caregivers, socialize, learn about child development and connect with the PV district and its community resources.
Home Visiting:
Biweekly or monthly home visits implementing the Parents as Teachers Curriculum, focusing on parent-child interaction, child development, parenting, and family well-being. This program is open to any Pequea Valley family with a child from prenatal to five years old who plans to send their child to PVSD for Kindergarten.
Kindergarten Transition:
Kindergarten Readiness Kits: PV is excited to provide each learner with a Kindergarten Readiness Literacy Kit. These kits are available to any child who is 4 years old or older that will be enrolling in Kindergarten at Pequea Valley School District for the coming school year. The Readiness Kits will include supplies and resources to help prepare your child for Kindergarten.
Kindergarten Registration Assistance and Events: Our Early Learning Team holds screening appointments at the Brave Kids Learning Center. The Kindergarten Screening process is our chance to meet each learner, their caregivers, and share information. This is a very important step in our Kindergarten transition process. To schedule an appointment please contact Lisa.
Kindergarten Transition Activities: We host 3 transition nights for all incoming kindergarten learners and parents to attend at their elementary building. The nights will be a chance to meet principals, staff, explore their school building, and learn readiness skills.
